1. About these terms

These Terms & Conditions govern your application for a place at Baybos Home School ("the School", "we", "us") through our online admissions process. "You" means the parent or legal guardian submitting the application on behalf of the child named in it. By continuing your application and ticking the acceptance box, you confirm that you have read, understood and agree to these terms and to the Privacy Notice in section 8.

2. The admission process

Admission is a staged process. You complete each step online, and each completed step unlocks the next:

Stage 1 — Enquiry

You tell us about your child and how to reach you. We create your application and send you a private link to continue at any time.

Stage 2 — Application form

You provide fuller details about your child and family and accept these terms.

Stage 3 — Application fee

You pay a one-time application/assessment fee (section 3). This books your child's assessment and is non-refundable.

Stage 4 — Assessment

We arrange a visit and, where appropriate, an age-suitable assessment or interaction to understand how best to support your child. Assessment does not guarantee a place.

Stage 5 — Offer

If a place is available and suitable, we make you an offer. Offers are valid for the period stated in the offer.

Stage 6 — Acceptance & deposit

You accept the offer, sign the enrolment terms, and pay an acceptance deposit to secure the place.

Stage 7 — Enrolment

Your child is enrolled and set up on the School's portal. We contact you with resumption details.

Places are limited and offered at the School's discretion, taking into account availability, age, class balance and the best interests of the child and the School community. Submitting an application or paying the application fee does not, by itself, guarantee admission.

3. Fees & payments

The application fee is a one-time charge payable at Stage 3 to process your application and arrange assessment. It is non-refundable, whether or not a place is ultimately offered or accepted.

The acceptance deposit is payable at Stage 6 to secure an offered place. Unless stated otherwise in your offer, the deposit is credited towards your child's first term fees.

Tuition and other fees are set per class and per term and are shared with you by the Admissions team. School fees are payable in full before the start of term. Access to the parent portal and to your child's records follows the School's fee policy: records are made available once fees are paid in full, or where the School has granted an approved payment arrangement. Families facing genuine hardship may request a compassionate payment plan, which the School considers on a case-by-case basis.

Payments made online are processed by a licensed third-party payment provider. The School does not see or store your card details. Amounts are in Nigerian Naira (₦).

4. Offers & acceptance

An offer of a place is personal to the named child and is not transferable. An offer lapses if not accepted, and the acceptance deposit not paid, within the validity period stated. The School may withdraw an offer if information provided in the application is found to be materially inaccurate or incomplete, or if the deposit is not paid in time.

5. Parent undertakings

By applying, you confirm that the information you provide is true and complete to the best of your knowledge, that you are the parent or legal guardian entitled to make this application, and that you will support the School's ethos, code of conduct and reasonable policies. You agree to keep your contact details up to date and to inform the School promptly of any change relevant to your child's welfare or education.

6. Media & photography

From time to time the School photographs or records pupils for classroom, record-keeping and School communications. Your consent for any use of your child's image in School marketing or public channels is sought separately and can be given or withdrawn at any time through your parent portal. Enrolment does not require you to consent to public use of your child's image.

7. Health & medical

You agree to disclose any medical condition, allergy, disability or additional need relevant to your child's safety and education, so the School can make reasonable provision. In a medical emergency where you cannot be reached, you authorise the School to obtain appropriate medical care for your child.

8. Privacy & data protection

The School is committed to protecting personal data in line with the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 and applicable regulations (together, "data protection law").

What we collect

Application and contact details for you and your child (names, date of birth, gender, address, phone, email), information about prior schooling, and any health or additional-needs information you choose to share. We record your acceptance of these terms (version, date, time) and payment references (but not card details).

Why we use it (lawful basis)

To assess and process your application, arrange assessment, communicate with you, take payment, and — if your child is enrolled — to set up and run their education and welfare at the School. Our lawful bases are the steps necessary to enter into and perform the education agreement with you, our legitimate interest in running admissions safely and efficiently, your consent where we ask for it, and compliance with legal obligations.

Who we share it with

Only as needed to deliver the service: our licensed payment processor, our secure technology providers who host the platform on our behalf under confidentiality obligations, and public authorities where the law requires. We do not sell your data or use it for third-party advertising.

How long we keep it

Applications that do not proceed are retained only for as long as needed for our records and legal purposes, then deleted or anonymised. Records for enrolled pupils are kept for the duration of their time at the School and for the period required by law thereafter.

Your rights

Subject to data protection law, you may request access to your data, correction of inaccurate data, deletion where appropriate, and you may object to or restrict certain processing or withdraw consent. To exercise any right, contact us at office@baybos.school. You also have the right to complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission.

Security

We use reputable, access-controlled systems and apply technical and organisational measures to protect your data. Sensitive details are handled on a need-to-know basis.

9. Withdrawal & refunds

You may withdraw your application at any time by contacting the office. The application fee is non-refundable. The treatment of the acceptance deposit on withdrawal is as stated in your offer; where the deposit has been credited to fees, the School's fee refund policy applies.

10. Liability & changes

Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot lawfully be limited. The School is not liable for delays or failures caused by events beyond its reasonable control. We may update these terms from time to time; the version in force when you accept is the version that applies to your application, and material changes will be communicated to enrolled families.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
